{A Rwf50,000,000 worth museum preserving historical relics of 1994 genocide against Tutsi is set to be built at Kagugu Hill, Kinyinya sector, Gasabo district, where wreckage of an armored vehicle on caterpillar that was being taken to massacre the Tutsi was blown by RPA liberators. }
The executive secretary of Kinyinya sector, Kayihura Felix, says the wreckage has a history behind and should be told and preserved in a sustainable manner. He noted this yesterday during the night vigil to remember victims of 1994 Tutsi genocide held at Groupe Scolaire Kagugu in Kinyinya sector.
“We want to build a historical museum so that the history behind this wreckage is not forgotten. The Habyarimana soldiers were on a march to kill the Tutsi. Fortunately, Inkotanyi fired and destroyed the armed car before reaching its target,” he said.
He explained construction of the historical museum was delayed since they had to first handle expropriations with the land owners where the museum will be built.
