Medical school of excellence launches in Kigali

{East African Community has launched in Kigali a school with an excellent health center for immunization and other health related activities including offering trainings, distributing medicines and health care materials.}

The health center will be building students’ professional skills.

The health center launched yesterday is located at the headquarters of University of Rwanda’s School of Public Health in Kicukiro and will enroll students from 6 member states of EAC.

The former EAC Secretary general, Dr Richard Sezibera said that the school will help to improve health care services delivery.

“Operating pharmaceutical stores requires some degree of drug management skills. Students will be taught to supply quality medical services on time,” he said.

The Minister of Health, Dr Agnes Binagwaho has welcomed students at the launched school saying it is an opportunity for them to realize their dreams.

She noted that good health can only be attained through building good capacities in health education knowledge management adding that the school will help those who are committed to becoming medical professionals.

The health center was funded by the Deutschland Development Bank which contributed more than USD 10,000,000.
