{Pope Francis has promoted and appointed the general secretary of Caritas Rwanda. Dr Father Mwumvaneza Anaclet, the bishop of Nyundo Diocese. }
He replaces Bishop Habiyambere Alexis who goes to retirement at the age of 76.
Bishop Mwumvaneza was born on December 4th 1956 in Murambi, Rulindo Parish of Kigali archdiocese.
He did primary school in Rulindo between 1963 and 1969. He then went to study in Saint Leo Junior Seminary in Kabgayi between 1969-1973.
At age 25, he returned to the junior seminary of Kabgayi studying in the category of old students. He started senior seminary studies at Rutongo after four years. He stayed at Rutongo between 1984 and 19856.
He continued his studies in philosophy between 1985-1987.He went to study Theology in senior seminary of Nyakibanda of Butare Diocese between 1987-1991.
Mwumvaneza became a priest on July 25th, 1991. He started his priest mission in Kabuye parish between 1991-1992 and worked later in Sainte Famille parish between 1992-2000.
Thereafter, he continued his studies in Rome between 2000-2004 where he obtained a PhD in Canon Law.
At his return, he served as a priest in Kicukiro parish between 2004 and 2005 while teaching in Nyakibanda senior seminary. He was the leader of Caritas in Kigali archdiocese between 2005-2013. He became the secretary general of Caritas Rwanda since 2013.
