Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Defence Forces delegation visits Rwanda

A delegation of four Senior Officers led by Brigadier General Tesfaye Welde Mariam Bhabtu from Ethiopia National Defence Forces, Inspectorate General of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia is in Rwanda on a five day study tour from 23 to 27 February 2016.

The Delegation paid a courtesy call on the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen Patrick Nyamvumba at Rwanda Defence Force Headquarters, on 24 February. The ENDF delegation later exchanged briefings with the RDF Staff, particularly on the RDF Inspectorate General’s duties and responsibilities.

“The Defence Forces of Ethiopia and Rwanda have long standing relations with a lot of experience through training. The Inspectorate General Office also has come here to share experience. We came here to get experience from the RDF Inspectorate General and give our experience. Our main purpose of the visit here is experience sharing”, disclosed Col Mussema Kedir Surure of the Ethiopian Defence Forces Inspectorate General Office.

He further noted that shared experience will enable them to improve their work. “The RDF IG has made a lot of achievements, they have a very devoted and skilled personnel”, said Col Mussema Kedir Surure.

The Ethiopian delegation visited Kigali Genocide Memorial Center, Campaign Against Genocide Museum. They are also scheduled to visit National Auditor General Office, Rwanda Air force Base, National Museum and RDF Command and Staff College.
