{Rwanda Academy of Language and Culture (RALC) has organized an exhibition of Kinyarwanda books which was attended by various authors and the Minister of Sports and Culture, Uwacu Julienne.}
The minister has lauded their literary expressions and requested them to do more improvements.
She stressed the need to write many Kinyarwanda books with constructive messages and to gather various books including those documenting Rwanda’s history and make them accessible to interested readers. She cited some books that are not easy to find nowadays like ‘Indyoheshabirayi’ and ‘Inganji Kalinga’.
Minister Uwacu lauded the contribution of Editions Bakame towards publishing many books about the culture with moral lessons.
Nkundamaliya Agnes, one of the founders of Edition Bakame said that they are collaborating with young writers promising to preserve Kinyarwanda language and literary expression.
Minister Uwacu also appreciated Grace Rwanda Society, an organization of Rwandans in Canada who came in Rwanda to encourage the youth to read about their mother language.
She commended authors who make exhibited books related to Rwandan culture and requested them to do more as Rwanda joins the world to mark the international day of mother tongue on 21st February.
