{Residents living near Sake Lake in Ngoma district in Eastern Province are requested to be cautious as the fetch water as crocodiles in the lake might be harmful and think of using alternative water sources. }
Bareberaho Abdoulrahaman is one among the residents who told the media how he escaped death after his encounter with a crocodile in Sake Lake that left one of his limbs with a severe wound.
Residents say that the lake today harbours many crocodiles which calls for being more cautious to avoid injuries and or loss of life to the predators.
The executive secretary of Sake sector, Mukayiranga Gloriose has advised residents to keep away from fetching water from the lake. “No citizen has been killed by a crocodile since I arrived here. Even though our spring well has inadequate water, citizens should not fetch lake water for it is not clean,” she said.
