Dr. Namira Negm, the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt has volunteered to lecture in University of Rwanda, in Nyarugenge Campus- Camp Kigali.
Namira has volunteered for free to teach a course in International Humanitarian Law as part of the LLM Degree at the University of Rwanda from 28th January to 6 February 2016.
Dr. Negm, who holds a PhD from University of London in International Law, has lectured about the Geneva Conventions of 1949, accountability for crimes against humanity and the rules of conduct in hostilities, which was of interest to the students given the history of Rwanda in suffering from the grave violations of international humanitarian law and genocide.
The beneficiaries included the Chair of the National Human Rights Council of Rwanda, members of Parliament, the judiciary, lawyers and human rights activists.
