{Rwanda National Handball league reigning champions, Police HC have signed three players to bolster its squad ahead of the Heroes Day cup and the start of the 2016 national league season.}
The Heroes Day cup will be played between February 20th and 21st, with all the eleven local clubs eligible to participate. Police are the defending champions.
Police coach, Assistant inspector of Police (AIP) Antoine Ntabanganyimana said the new signings, who signed a one year contract are right-winger Jean Nepomuscene from St. Aloys Rwamagana, center-back Jean Luis Munezero from APR and former Nyakabanda goal-keeper Placide Mutangana.
“They are coming in with experience, and this way we will continue to perform better, but also focusing on improving our performance on the continental level not just locally,” AIP Ntabanganyimana.
Last year, Police enjoyed the most successful campaign, winning seen titles which also include Labour Day, League, Carre d’As beach and East and Central Africa Handball Federation (ECAHF).
AIP Ntabanganyimana disclosed that they have also released other three plays, namely; winger Vedaste Ndayisenga, central back Emmanuel Zabonimpa and pivot Emmanuel Yatubabariye.
The club has started pre-season training at Kimisagara youth sports centre in preparation for the upcoming tournaments.
