{Two people have been killed and six injured in a car accident when a vehicle they were traveling in from Musanze to Rubavu drowned in Sebeya river, Kanama sector of Rubavu district today morning .}
The car which carried passengers drowned after its side mirror hit a cyclist.
Talking to IGIHE, the spokesperson of traffic police, Supt Jean Marie Vianney Ndushabandi, attributed the accident to the driver’s reckless driving.
“The driver hit the cyclist, got distracted, tried looking behind at the cyclist he had hit, lost control and smashed into the river,” he said.
Ndushabandi appealed on drivers to be steadfast while driving to avoid similar incidents.
Bodies of the deceased and those injured have been taken to Rubavu Hospital.
