{Members of parliament have expressed worries over uncompleted projects that have been underway in the past five years. During a 10-day familiarization in in Rusizi district, the MPs cited Nkombo Guest House, Giheke Dairy, chicken’ breeding center and Rusizi butchery among others. }
“There are stunted projects such as Nkombo Guest House which has not been operational since its completion, yet a lot of cash has been spent on its construction. Some cooperatives have stopped operating. We have advised local leaders to respect their duties and be committed to the people they lead, “said Mwiza Espérance, an MP.
The mayor of Rusizi district, Frédéric Harerimana, said that some projects are supported by government institutions which fail to fulfill funding obligations and jeopardize large projects.
Honourable Mwiza revealed that they’ll talk to government institutions concerned to assess their role in stalling such projects.
The district officials said Rwanda Agriculture Board is among the institutions that have failed in their funding obligations and so stalled Giheke dairy,
