Rusizi hailstorm destroys over Rwf 300m worth of property

{Bright Company, a Rusizi-based rice processing factory, in Bugarama sector, has been destroyed by a hailstorm, the chairman of the sector advisory committee has confirmed. }
He said the hailstorm that started at 15:30 hours blew off the roof top of the factory and some walls were left into debris, destroying rice processing machinery beyond repair, in total making a loss of over Rwf 300 million.

The accountant of the factory told the press that ravaged buildings contained two tons of processed rice and 27 tons of unprocessed rice which all got destroyed.

The factory proprietors have asked police and military to maintain security at the premises to stave off looters that might want to profit from the disaster.
