{Leaders of Rwanda Muslim Community (RMC) have talked against Muhammad Mugemangango who was allegedly involved in recruiting for the ISIS terrorists.}
A statement released by the Rwanda National Police indicated that Muhammad Mugemangango was shot dead on 23rd January, 2016, 13hrs, at Kimironko-Mushumbamwiza road as he was attempting to escape.
“He was under investigations for mentoring Rwandan youths into Jihad and recruiting them to join Islamic State (ISIS) in Syria,” reads part of the statement.
Muhammad Mugemangango was Deputy Imam Kimironko Mosque.
Speaking to Voice of America, Rwandan Mufti Kayitare Ibrahim, said that Rwandan Muslim Community is against all acts of terror.
“We stand against him regarding his ideology. It is mismatching with Rwanda Muslim Community’s doctrines. These beliefs and thoughts are different from Rwanda Muslim Community’s beliefs,” he said.
Kayitare warned others who may think in the same way to desist from such negative beliefs.
Recently Islam believers including two Sheikhs went missing on their way to University of Rwanda, Huye Campus. Kayitare says there is no connection between their disappearance and what Mugemangango was suspected to have got involved in.
