Kanimba pins local leaders on job creation projects

The Minister of Trade and Industry, Francois Kanimba has criticized some leaders that are taking lazy strides in implementing projects that would translate into job creation.
During a meet with district advisors on job creation project across the country yesterday, Kanimba said some of them do not do all that is necessary to increase jobs on a regular basis.

Minister Kanimba said that Rwandan targets to create 200,000 off-farm jobs annually will not be reached unless leaders fulfill their duties with diligence.
Some district officials have been pinned for failure to eradicate poor machines that crush rice while processing which undermines the quality of Rwandan rice compared to imported rice.

“There are machines which damage rice, yet standard factories lack rice to process. Sometimes district officials don’t engage in banning such machines. You must ban it as long as you identify that it damages rice,” he said.
