{Retired nuns working in Kabuga Health Center yesterday commended donations of Rotary Club of Kigali which provided a nursery incubator for the support of neonatal services for the prematurely born children, and food for mothers as they celebrate the festive seasons of Christmas and New Year.}
Sister Mariya Alice, one of nuns working in Kabuga Health Center, said that donations of incubators have come in handy since they will help to nurture premature children before being referred to Masaka Hospital.
She added that new donations will ensure safety of new born babies even though the cases of premature deliveries are rare at the health center.
Apart from the donated incubator, retired nuns, majority of who are aged over 90 years, appreciated the donated food items as an act of kindness by the Rotary Club members.
Talking to IGIHE, Sister Agnes Niyitegeka, the representative of retired nuns said; “We are glad for the food items valued at Rwf 200,000 from Rotary Club.”
The management of Rotary Club of Kigali says that the donations are part of its community charitable activities of supporting individuals and communities during the festive season.
The president of Rotary Club Kigali, Frederick Auger said that the selection of Kabuga Health Center was based on a big number of vulnerable pregnant women who are unable to pay hospital bills, adding they have raised Rwf 200,000 for 30 nuns working in Rwamagana Health Center.
