Zigama CSS General Assembly approves 200 billion next year business plan

{The general assembly of Credit and Savings Society (Zigama-CSS) convened on 11 December 2015 at Ministry of Defence Headquarter, Kimihurura. The meeting discussed among other things the Zigama CSS business plan 2016 valued to almost 200 billion Rwandan Francs.}

The meeting chaired by Hon Minister of Defence, Gen James Kabarebe also approved Zigama CSS strategic orientation that targets a business plan of about 450 billion Rwandan francs in 2020 moving from 170 billion Rwandan francs as in 2015.

Speaking to the media, Dr James Ndahiro, the chairperson of Zigama CSS Board of Directors said that the Cooperative Bank has contributed considerably to the welfare of its Members.
“Zigama CSS has responded to basic needs of its Members moving from housing loans to income generating projects loans”.

Dr James Ndahiro also noted that the meeting also received a report carried out to collect views and perceptions of Zigama CSS members on services and products of the Cooperative Bank.

Elaborating on the contribution to the welfare of Zigama CSS Members, Defence and Military Spokesperson Brig Gen Joseph Nzabamwita said the Financial Institution has reduced the interest rate from 15 per cent to 13 per cent for new or existing total loans equal to or below five million Rwandan francs to allow borrowers access more credit and improve their lives and increased the repayment period up to six years.

He welcomed the interest rate reduction, qualifying it as “a good move toward improving the welfare of Zigama CSS members and their families as well.”
This year, Zigama CSS has also opened a new branch in Nyarugenge in M. PEACE House a building known as “Kwa Makuza”.

The meeting was attended by high authorities including the Minister of Defence, Gen James Kabarebe and Minister of internal security, Sheikh Mussa Fazil Harerimana.

Zigama CSS established in 1997 by Rwanda Defence Forces has now attracted all members of the Security Organs including Rwanda Defence Forces, Rwanda National Police and Rwanda Correctional Service personnel.
