{The Ministry of Sports has provided Rwf37,500,000 to 15 players who staged a good performance representing the country during the 2015 Tour du Rwanda competition.}
The recent tournament has been the second won by Rwanda cycling team after 2014. Each of the trainers who assisted participants during the tournament will receive Rwf1,250,000.
Talking to IGIHE, Bayingana Aimable, the president of Rwanda Cycling Federation (FERWACY), has revealed that the management of the federation has received a message regarding the motivation reserved for Rwanda Cycling Team.
“It is reality that MINISPOC will recompense players who brought pride to the country. Each player will receive Rwf 2,500,000 million,” he said.
“We have appreciated the recognition which demonstrates how our country values the attained levels of performance. We will try our best to win more competitions,” he added.
Bayingana said that President Paul Kagame should be greatly commended for providing quality and competitive bicycles to which players’ victory is attributed.
“I voice my appreciation to the government through MINISPOC. The bicycles used to win Tour du Rwanda competition were provided by president Kagame. Moreover players have gained a special motivation. It is a commendable step that will reinforce other people willing to join cycling,” he said.
