The parliamentary chamber of deputies has approved the statute providing rules and regulations of prosecution.
It was approved yesterday during the presentation of modifications report the senate made on the law guiding prosecutors .The report was presented by the commission of gender promotion during an event presided over the president of parliamentary chamber of deputies Mukabarisa Donatile.
It has been explained that the law was meant to enhance good governance and rule of law.
Kayiranga Rwasa Alfred, the president of the commission has presented to the parliament the summary of the report revised by senate members on the statute modifying and complying with the law number 44 bis/2011 of 26/11/2011 guiding prosecution processes and procedures.
Rwasa has said that during the review, some articles were modified to include improved writing and quality reports.
He noted that the article regarding military prosecutors have been removed.
The approved law will change identification of prosecutors’ assistants to distinguish paralegals from layers. The new law defines prosecution organs, criteria of appointing prosecutors, auditing processes and their term limits.
Swearing in ceremony for all prosecutors will be always presided by the prime minister unlike the past where only prosecution leading committee would swear in front of the prime minister.
