A car accident in Gicumbi district kills seven people leaving two others with serious injuries on this Saturday 31st October.
The Mayor of Gicumbi district who was at the scene of the accident told IGIHE that six of died people are Gicumbi residents.
“It is a Taxi minibus (HIACE trademark) from Gatuna heading for Kigali. Among nine people who were in, seven passed away immediately.” Said Gicumbi Mayor.
Mayor Mvuyekure said that two severely wounded have been carried to Byumba Hospital.
Mayor Mvuyekure also unveiled probable cause of the accident. “May be Police can know the truth of the accident. However, it is said that the taxi brake was broken while turning a cross and it lead into immediate collapse.” He said.
The accident took place in Kigoma,a location of which crosses are said to be dangerous.
The latest critical accident in Gicumbi occurred was a lorry that took lives of eight people in Idigiri region.
