
{ {{The Office of the Ombudsman revealed that senior public servants who didn’t present their possessions are going to face punishments following the annual procurement report unveiling that only 9537 among 9565 leaders registered their wealth. }} }
The National Office of the Ombudsman announced that 28 public officials haven’t presented their properties while 9 others didn’t explain the source of their properties.
It was demonstrated during the illumination of the Ombudsman’s Office 2014-2015 report to both chambers of the cabinet.
The report indicates that district accountants have dominated in the absence of registering possessions despite their close involvement in the government’s finance.
Commenting on the report, the cabinet declared that presenting property act as anti-theft mechanism of public possession. It further requested to take strategic measures to penalize authorities who didn’t present possessions to avoid reoccurrence of the matter as it used to be.
Rwanda’s Ombudsman, Aloysie Cyanzayire confirmed that the registration of property is increasing based on the fact that the latter rose from 99.2% to 99.7% in this year.
She further explained that the declaration of property is increasing tremendously to the extent that other countries are astonished for achievements Rwanda has reached.
The report will be presented to both chambers of the parliament before the decision of its commission.
