Hellofood commits technology prioritization to transform livelihoods

So far it has developed an application that can be used to order lunch to offices or dinner to people’s home from their favorite restaurant during their commute.

After realizing how data costs are still prohibitive for Rwandans, Hellofood has made the application very light to the extent that it only takes 5 MB to download

Else, starting on Monday, customers can get hellofood on Fonepass, which allows free downloads of popular applications.

As articulated by Her Excellency the First Lady of the Republic of Rwanda during the 2015 Transform Africa Summit, hellofood believes that women should play an increasingly prominent role in the technology space.

The restaurant which is the largest e-commerce company in the country has participated in women reinforcement placing them in top management roles.

For instance Hellofood’s Managing Director, Sales and Marketing Manager, External Relations Manager, cash collector, finance assistant, and several customer service agents are strong and ambitious women leading digital innovation in Rwanda.

As the staff of Hellofood shared ,the restaurant has created over 48 direct jobs and the average income that a restaurant receives from hellofood orders is enough to hire two new waiters, which means that the restaurant has indirectly created an additional 140 jobs.
