Rwandans celebrate Kwibohora 21 in South Africa

{On 15 august 2015 the High Commision of Rwanda in South Africa has organised in Sandton Convention centre an event to celebrate Rwanda’s progress 21 years after Genocide.}

The event was attended by 250 people including South African government officials and private sector, African Diaspora, Ambassadors and Rwandans living in Southern Africa.

The event was officiated by South African Deputy Minister of water and sanitation Ms Pamela Tshwete.

The HC of Rwanda Vincent Karega in his speech highlighted the recent sad history of Rwanda, the liberation and the efforts to reverse that sad part of Rwanda.

He also talked about the progress made in unity and reconciliation, economic growth and socio transformstion, the secret behind that success, 25 years of cooperation with South Africa started between RPF and ANC before both parties were also celebrated.

He said “The achievements through trade and cooperation are immense and the similarities between the two countries are many.”

The HC also seized the opportunity to promote tourism and investment.

In her speech the Deputy Minister highly appreciated the rapid recovery and the achievements of Rwanda in all sectors. She emphasized the necessity for both countries to take the bilateral relations to new heights building on so many things. The guests were entertained by a local band in a Diner -dance set up. Companies already investing in Rwanda were awarded certificates of appreciation and the potential ones mobilised to visit or invest in Rwanda. The quality of attendance was very good.

The presence of other Africans non South African and non Rwandan added on the panafrican dimension.
