Rwanda importers risk having merchandise auctioned

{Importers from Rwanda who have not yet picked their items from the Kenyan port are at risk of having their merchandise and containers auctioned off. }

This was said during a meeting of stakeholders and key industry players convened to deliberate on speeding up Northern Corridor infrastructure development, and integration of trade processes applicable to all countries channelling goods from Kenya’s port.

The Rwanda Revenue Authority has released a warning announcement of auctioning goods from Mombasa Port if owners fail to pick them.

The announcement says Rwandan importers who have goods including cars that arrived at Mombasa Port before 30th November 2014, should come to pick them from the port until 15th April 2015, unless they will be auctioned.
