The Rwandan diaspora association on Saturday held a get-together which gathered Rwandans from different background living in Zimbabwe.The event was made of cultural dance, video projection on Rwanda’s development and current situation.
The event organized by the diaspora association was attended by the 1st Counsellor and 1st Secretary of Rwanda’s High Commission in South Africa.
The Rwandan diaspora association in Zimbabwe was created eight months ago and has been officially registered in Zimbabwe. The association is mainly composed of international civil servants, students, business people as well as refugees.
In the last eight months, the association has been able to gather Rwandans into different social activities and exchange information on Rwanda.
In her remarks, Christine Umutoni, the acting chairperson of the association dwelt on the importance of the diaspora association and she also called upon members to uplift their living, to give great value for the Rwandan culture and its essence in human development, she called on every one present to contribute to the development of Rwanda.
The diaspora association also took the opportunity to present its new cultural troop known as “ Imanzi” which is composed young people.
