President Kagame Joins Kenyans in marking 51 years of Independence

{President Paul Kagame is among invited regional leaders attending today’s Jamhuri Day Celebrations at Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi.}

Others are President John Mahama of Ghana and Yoweri Museveni of Uganda.

Other key leaders attending the celebration include Cord leaders Raila Odinga, Moses Wetangula, and National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi.

Thousands of Kenyans braved the morning chill to mark the most important holiday in the country as they eagerly waited to hear President Uhuru Kenyatta address several issues among them the controversial security amendment bill.

In an interview with KTN, Kenya’s envoy to UN Habitat Sam Ongeri said he expects the President to address insecurity, unemployment and economy matters in his speech “The president will touch key issues in the jubilee manifesto like employment and infrastructural development. Unity among Kenyans will also take center stage,” he said.
