DRC: UN says Nearly 600 FDLR Ex-rebels and dependents transferred to Kisangani

{The UN mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has announced that nearly six hundred former FDLR combatants and dependents have been transferred to Kisangani.}

This was announced by the Deputy Special Representative of the UN Secretary General in charge of operations in the eastern DRC, Wafy Abdallah, on Wednesday, December 3.

He said that up to now the camp of Walungu and of Kanyabayonga are completely emptied of FDLR elements.

The combatants and dependents -women and children are now in Bahuma camp in Kisangani.

The deputy head of MONUSCO announced a meeting to be held after the disarmament of the former rebels.

FDLR have been given up to 2nd January to be completely disarmed unless they face military operations if they fail to meet the disarmament deadline.
