Motorcyclists in Kigali protest Against BBC genocide denial film

Thousands Motorcyclists from 12 cooperatives operating in Kigali have done a peaceful march aimed to express their anger and hurt at the BBC’s genocide denial film entitled “Rwanda’s untold story.”

The march departed from former ETO Kicukiro to Kicukiro Memorial site where Tutsi were massacred by Interahamwe militia during the 1994 Genocide against Tutsis.

“The BBC documentary Rwanda’s untold story is an attempt to revise the history and the facts of 1994 Genocide against Tutsi and disrespected the memory of our Mothers, Fathers sisters and Brothers killed in Genocide against Tutsi.” said Ngarambe Daniel, the Chairman of cooperatives under SYTRAMORWA.

He said that in its attempt to deny the Genocide against Tutsi, the documentary film made by BBC has been an insult to Rwandans who still suffer from the trauma and pain of what happened in 1994.

For that, Motorcyclists said “We are proud of our leader’s vision in building our country that even gives voice to Rwandans.”
They accused BBC to undermining those efforts to build a peace in Rwandan communities yet there Patriotic Rwandans who stopped and rescued Tutsi are turned perpetrators.

They established historical Facts of Genocide against Tutsi where put aside in favor of making a documentary film that emboldens Genocide deniers and perpetrators not yet brought to Justice in doing so the BBC stated denial values of the truth and accuracy impartiality and not causing harm and offence were ignored

As a result of the documentary film the BBC has broken the truth that existed between the Rwandan people in particular and the entire world.

“We demand a full withdraw and banning of the documentary and call on the BBC to issue and official apology not only to Rwandans but also to whole world. We will continue to stand against any act of the Genocide denial and we will also continue to honor the memory of more than one million victims of the Genocide against Tutsi.” Ngarambe said

He added, “We, motorist youth cooperatives, we love our country Rwanda and our President PAUL KAGAME our liberator and hero. We promise you to protect what we have achieved and keep our dignity.”
