Amb. Dr. Ngarambe Presents credentials to the President of Swiss

{On 11th November 2014, Ambassador Dr. Francois Xavier Ngarambe presented his credentials to the President of the Swiss Confederation H.E. Didier Burkhalter at the Federal Palace in Bern. Federal Chancellor Corina Casanova and other State Officials were also in attendance. Ambassador Dr. Ngarambe was accompanied by Mr. Moses Rugema, First Counsellor at the Embassy and Permanent Mission of Rwanda in Switzerland. }

Ambassador Dr. Ngarambe conveyed the greetings of H.E Paul Kagame before briefing the President of the Swiss Confederation on the development taking place in Rwanda. Most importantly, in areas of governance and democracy, unity and reconciliation as well as socio-economic development. H.E. Burkhalter commended Rwanda’s achievements and efforts to reconstruct the country following the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi and pledged continued support in the future.

Both President Burkhalter and Ambassador Dr. Ngarambe expressing their desire to continue to build and strengthen the bilateral relationship between Rwanda and Switzerland. ‘Given Rwanda’ s ambition to become a service hub for the region and a modern knowledge based economy, and given Switzerland’s leading role in services, education, and scientific innovation, those areas will be the focus of our cooperation’ stated Ambassador Dr. Ngarambe at the conclusion of the meeting.
