Rwanda’s Prime Minister has commended the Government of Germany for the support it provides to Rwanda, which he says, contributes to the development that Rwanda is enjoying today.
Prime Minister Anastase Murekezi received the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, His Excellency Peter Fahrenholtz who paid him a courtesy call on 11th November, 2014.
“The Government of Rwanda appreciates the support that Germany provides to our country in various sectors such as education (including TVET), private sector development and youth, decentralization, governance as well as technical cooperation” Prime Minister Murekezi said.
Peter Fahrenholtz, the Germany Ambassador congratulated the Government of Rwanda for the achievement made in the last 20 years after the country being destroyed during the Genocide perpetrated against Tutsi in 1994.
“Rwanda is one of the success story in Africa after a dark period it crossed, Germany is proud to be one of the contributors to your development and we will keep providing the support towards further achievements” said the Ambassador.
Amb. Peter Fahrenholtz reiterated that Germany will keep supporting Rwanda in peace building and reconciliation as Rwanda stands as the first example in peace and security in the region.
The bilateral cooperation between Rwanda and Germany started in 1979, and contributes to the reduction of poverty; improvement of health care and governance; maintaining sustainable peace and contribution to advancement of sustainable economic development in Rwanda.
