Switzerland urges Burundi and Rwanda to probe Bodies found in Rweru

{After a US statement on the recent bodies floating in Lake Rweru, Switzerland has also released another statement in which it calls on Burundi and Rwanda to work closely and bring to justice perpetrators of these heinous crimes.}

In this statement, Switzerland urges the Burundian and Rwandan authorities to work together, transparently with the help of international experts to know the identity of these individuals and the perpetrators of such heinous crimes.

Switzerland recommends both countries to do independent and transparent investigations to trace the perpetrators of these murders.

The families of the victims have every right to know the reason for the killings.

Since July 2014, the fishermen of Lake Rweru in northern Burundi reported human bodies in most cases tied up and wrapped in plastic bags floating on the lake.
