Kigali, 11 August 2014: Rwanda Defence Forces (RDF) deeply regrets and strongly condemns the killing and injuring of innocent people that occurred on 8/10/2014 in Gicumbi District, Northern Province.
That criminal act blatantly violates RDF well known ethos and discipline.
The Military Prosecution has immediately started investigating the case. Once investigations are concluded, the suspect, Pte MUNYEMBABAZI Theogene, who has been arrested, will be brought before the Court for prosecution.
The suspect will be sentenced to the fullest extent of the law, if found guilty.
The RDF extends its heartfelt condolences to the aggrieved families and friends of those killed and injured during the unfortunate incident.
