Rwanda’s PM cautions Police over increasing cases of road accidents

{Rwanda’s Prime Minister Anastase Murekezi has urged police to take tangible measures to deal with increasing cases of road accidents in which many Rwandans are losing their relatives.}

Nineteen people died and several others were injured in two separate road accidents at the weekend.

Meanwhile referring to the articles published on this site the number of people who have died since Friday is 30.

Police said preliminary investigations showed that the main cause of these accidents is careless drivers who drove with high speed while others do not care about pedestrians.

Prime Minister Anastase Murekezi has urged Police to take tangible measures to avoid further accidents.

He also called upon Rwandans to play a significant role to stop those accidents.

On his Twitter account, PM Murekezi wrote “It is sad to lose lives of People; drivers should pay attention while at the same time abiding to traffic rules. Police should also take tough measures.”
