{{Researchers and lecturers of different universities, civil society and private sector from Great Lakes region launched official Sustainable development solutions Network, which will start to work in 2016 till 2030 as the Millennium Development Goals will end by 2015.}}
It is for the seventh time that sustainable development network launched all over the world from 2012.
In Launching that network officially, the minister of education in Rwanda professor Silas Lwakabamba told to participants that Problem shared, problem resolved”.
Which means that, sharing strategies among network members will help to come up with different solutions of sustainable development whether local, regional and international needs.
He also called members of sustainable development network, to do their best in illustrating problems through research which prevent citizens to live in good conditions of development.
In illustrating common problems in the region of great lakes countries and special cases for every country, policy makers and political leaders will start implentation regarding to what researcher recommend as very urgent to citizens of a given country.
Dr.Papias Musafiri principal of College of Business and Economics in University of Rwanda said that MDGs must be replaced by sustainable development solutions as it has been launched by UN secretary Ban Kimoon in 2012.
Minisiter of Education one of RDC delegation in that network said”Afurika has richness in soil and in water and this is the time to help its citizens”
In millennium development goals focus was to reduce extreme hunger, deases, mother and child mortality but now the network will focus in all sectors like economic development, including the end to the extreme poverty, social inclusion, environmental sustainability and good governance ,including peace and security.
Karangwa Pierre Celestin Dr Professor at Bujumbura University said” in this network, we are looking the way research from different universities can be solution for people’s difficulties”
Responding on what the network will bring to countries problem in different sectors Karangwa said” the non leaving bird can’t know where the food is ,we also, we will learn from one another in order to resolve problem of our country”
Dr Papias Musafiri said that after finishing each research ,there will be advocacy in order to help government to implement what really citizen needs.
Even though in Africa, the network started with great lakes countries but also other countries are invited to join it as sustainable development is needed very where.
This network will start working in 2016-2030 as the MGDs will be ending in 2015, and its launch yesterday participants were exchanging ideas on which strategies will used and how implementation will be done for sustainable development in countries, region and continents.
