During the three-month intensive training designed to suit today’s policing challenges, participants covered matters related to crime prevention, police command, operations, administration, supervisory duties and Information Technology (IT) skills among others.
Superintendent Emmanuel Gahigi, one of the course participants said the course enlightened them on the modern policing skills in crime prevention.
“The policing arena is evolving and we got this chance to acquire new skills in crime prevention, investigation, which will help us to further accomplish our duties and the force’s mandate in general,” Supt. Gahigi said.
Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Administration and Personnel, Juvenal Marizamunda, who presided the official closing of the course thanked trainees for successfully completing the training and urged them to use the acquired skills for the good of Rwandans and the country in general.
“It’s now time for you to put to use the new policing skills and knowledge you got in this intensive course; that’s what Rwanda National Police and Rwandans expect from you; they expect quality and timely services,” DIGP Marizamunda said.
He also appealed to them to be disciplined and exemplary officers and work together in giving quality services to those that come to them.
Supt. Beline Mukamana, Chief Inspector Herbert Rutaru and Inspector Jean Phillipe were also awarded as first, second and third best overall students respectively.
