1400 FDLR rebels expected in Kisangani “soon”

{One Thousand and four hundred Rwandan combatants of the Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda (FDLR) and four thousand two hundred of their dependents are expected “soon” in the technical center battalions (CTB) in Kisangani, Radio Okapi reports on Tuesday.}

The center which is located in Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo temporarily hosts the rebels from the North and South Kivu who have voluntarily agreed to disarm.

Meanwhile, the Congolese government considers Kisangani as a transit point and not a final destination of the FDLR, says UN official.

“The Congolese government has decided to use the camp as a center for temporary relocation of all elements of the FDLR and their dependents that come from North Kivu and South Kivu,” said General Abdallah Wafy.
