ZIGAMA CSS General Assembly Agree on new Welfare Programs for Members

The Chairperson of CSS Board of Directors, Dr James Ndahiro told Media that the co-operative realized a profit of 4.5 billion in 2013 and project to get 5.5 billion as profit for this year. He highlighted that CSS primary objective is improving the welfare for members.

Dr Ndahiro said that today’s meeting adopted new welfare programs for its members. Zigama CSS has established a Disability Fund for members that need special attention. Retiring members with disabilities will receive loan re-payment assistance of up to three million Rwandan Franks.

An advisory technical team to help members to present profitable loan projects to their cooperative has been established to offer technical assistance to members. Dr Ndahiro said Zigama is improving services by negotiating MOUs with other Banks in the country. “This will help members to easily access services countrywide” he noted.

Brig Gen Joseph Nzabamwita, the RDF spokesperson told Media that the General Assembly welcomed the progress made by Zigama CSS in the financial year 2013 and said it as a typical example of successful homegrown solutions.

“Rwandans in other sectors are welcome to learn to look at the success story of Zigama CSS and come up with similar strategies of strengthening their co-operatives to help improve their lives” he said.

ZIGAMA CSS is a financial co-operative with a mission of catering for the welfare of its members from Rwanda Defence Forces, Rwanda National Police, Rwanda Correctional Services and other security organs.
