Saint Etienne FC to partner with Rwandan clubs

{After a two day visit to Rwanda, leaders of Saint Etienne football academy have accepted to create partnership with Rwandan football clubs.}

This partnership will include rising of young talents while with the club and exchanging coaches in order to improve on the Rwandan football through developing young talents.

During the second day of their visit, they attended a friendly game between Isonga FC and SEC football academy.

According to Bernard David, the boss of Saint Etienne football academy, he was surprised to see the way these young players had such a good talent as they were born in 1998.

While talking to FERWAFA and the Minister of sports Bernard David asked them to give chance to young talents, through provision of easy access to football academy’s so that they may go for trials in Europe.

Some of the coaches to the young players will be having seasonal trainings with Saint Etienne (France) and later exploit them through training the local football academies.

Apart from that, Coaches from Saint Etienne will be visiting the country seasonally, to provide trainings on the development of young players.

During this Tuesday, this delegation attended two football matches on the 9th day of the league.
These matches included Kiyovu beating police fc 2-0, and Mukura beating As Kigali 2-1.

After the matches, Bernard said “Rwanda has got good players who are developing at a high rate and that’s the reason why we decided to work with the Rwanda football federation. The benefit of this partnership will be on both sides”.

According to the FERWAFA boss Ntagungira Celestin, in order for this partnership to resume, he will have to meet with the committee of Saint Etienne in France in order to sign the contract.

The last time FERWAFA had partnership, it was between RFEF (Real Federación Espanola de Fútbol) in Spain and it was concluded when three players managed to escape the academy while on a visit in Spain.

These three players included Rwigema Yves, Neza Anderson and Nkizingabo Fiston.
