Local Uganda newsreports have quoted sources close to presidents office that the meeting will be held September 5, at Commonwealth Resort, Munyonyo in Kampala city.
The meeting follows a recent threats of an allout war between the coalition of Congolese Forces and UN intervention Brigade pounding the M23 rebels positions that allegedly withdrew from combat.
However, other souces say the rebels have not withdrawn saying its propaganda from Kinshasa government.
Leaders expected at the forthcoming summit include from; Angola, Burundi, Central African Republic, Republic of Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Sudan, Tanzania and Zambia.
Rwanda had on August 29 massively deployed with superior weapons along its border with the DRCongo after congolese forces deliberately fired rockets into Rwandan targeting civilians.
Foreign Affairs minister Louise Mushikiwabo reacted in a statement, “We have the capacity to determine who fired at us and will not hesitate to defend our territory. Rwanda has a responsibility to protect its population.”
