On Friday, hundreds of students at Umutara Polytechnique were awarded degrees in various academic disciplines.
Over 737 students graduated from faculties of Agriculture, Veterinary Medicine, Information Communication and Technology (ICT) and the School of Business and Applied Economics.
243 of the graduates that successfully completed their studies were females.
Dr. Mathias Harebamungu the State Minister for Primary and Secondary Education presided over the graduation ceremony.
He told graduates, “We push for development towards the knowledge based economy… the country intends to educate more than 10 percent of its citizens up to the university level.”
