They were arrested Friday during a police operation conducted in Ntaraga market and Nyabugogo in Kimisagara sector.
Those arrested include 11 people suspected to be part of the robberies within Kigali City that included especially targeting electronic appliances; computers, television sets and telephones.
Others include thugs, who snatch ladies bags, phones and other items especially in the awe hours and hawkers and idlers, who were taken to Gikondo Transit Centre for screening.
The District Police Commander (DPC) Chief Superintendent Dismas Rutaganira said they were apprehended separately in a five-hour operation based on the information provided by the community.
“This noble cause from the public by providing such important information has greatly improved security in the district since most wrongdoers are arrested before executing their illegal acts,” CSP Rutaganira said.
“At the centre, together with the City of Kigali, we give them civic education and show them the right path to survival like joining or forming cooperative societies and grabbing the opportunity of universal education,” he added.
