Contrary to popular belief, men are not always raring to go when it comes to sex. So ladies, if you are getting turned down in the bedroom, don’t worry yourself about it because it might not just be about you.
Below are 6 reasons men turn down sex.
1. ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION AND PREMATURE EJACULATION
Men grow up believing they have to be the real MVP anytime they have sex so men who usually experience erectile dysfunction or premature ejaculation may turn down sex and act withdrawn for fear his woman will be disappointed or think that he’s less of a man.
2. STRESS FROM WORK
According to a study published in The Journal of Sexual Medicine, being stressed at work was the number reason men reported having a low libido. When a man is stressed, he isn’t relaxed enough to experience pleasure.
3. LACK OF SLEEP
60 per cent of adults get less than the recommended eight hours of sleep and this can lead to fatigue, low-energy, irritability, tension and drowsiness which leads to less desire to have sex.
4. LOW TESTOSTERONE LEVELS
The testosterone levels of men gradually decreases as a man gets over 40. Testosterone stimulates sexual desire in men and sometimes testosterone levels decrease rapidly, a condition known as andropause which comes with symptoms such as loss of energy and low sex drive.
5. THERE’S A RELATIONSHIP ISSUE HE IS HOLDING ON TO
A man’s desire to have sex can be affected if there is a relationship issue he is holding on to. His body will be unlikely to respond to desire if there are issues about the relationship he is mulling over.
6. HE’S ON MEDICATION
Some medications have side effects that can affect a man’s sex life. Drugs for high blood pressure such as beta blockers, ACE inhibitors and calcium channel blockers are common culprits.
