{Rwanda Correctional Service (RCS) has sacked 54 warders prison guards including two officers at the rank of Assistant Inspector of Prison (AIP) over misconduct.
Other sacked prison guards include four with the rank of sergeant, two with the rank of corporal and 46 others of basic rank. }
The spokesperson of RCS, SIP Sengabo Hillary has told IGIHE that the warders have been summarily sacked over misconduct.
“They have been sacked over various reasons. Some of them having committed crimes which are pursued in courts while others facilitated inmates to escape among other cases,” he said.
“They were sacked at different times; first provisionally stopped from duties and later definitely sacked,” he added.
