Four people have died and five others injured when the massive wall of rock collapsed on them while mining.
The incidence occurred during night hours of April 24, at Ruli Sector in Gakenke district at a mine concession belonging to EPROCOMI mining company.
According to a communiqué from the National Resources Authority, the body of one of the four victims has been retrieved from the collapsed mine.
Mining activities at the Ruli mining site have been temporarily suspended to pave way for retrieval of bodies of remaining three victims trapped underneath.
