{{Thirty four Police Officers on Monday started a five-day training in Crime Scene Management at Rwanda National Police (RNP) headquarters in Kacyiru.}}
Participants are Regional, district and station Judicial Officers.
The training aims at giving capacity and knowledge to police investigators on how to better manage crime scene and handle crime evidence.
During the course of training, participants will learn both theories and practices in lessons such as crime photography, crime scene sketching and finger prints.
Other lessons set to be covered include; impression and blood evidence and detection of blood stains.
Presiding over the official launch of the training, Senior Superintendent Benoit Nsengiyumva, urged participants to utilise the opportunity to acquire more skills and knowledge in criminal investigation.
He said Rwanda National Police embarked on giving police investigators the necessary skills and knowledge for them to professionally deal with crime scene and further help the overall justice sector.
“This course is very paramount and necessary to a police officer who does crime investigation. You can not satisfactory handle a crime case unless you first acquire skills in crime scene management,” SSP Nsengiyumva observed, urging course participants to take the training serious.
This brings the number of officers who have attained the same course to 89.
