31 IPRC students acquire technical, entrepreneurship skills

{A total of 31 students doing construction and electronics from Integrated Polytechnic Regional Center (IPRC) in Musanze district had a study tour at TEMACO Builders Ltd, a building and construction company, where they held fruitful discussions with the proprietor on a variety of business and technical issues.}

The students have told IGIHE that the visit was meant to learn how construction materials are made from various companies and share experiences on best entrepreneurship practices including how young graduates can establish their own businesses.

“We want to know how a young person can become an entrepreneur to the extent of receiving awards, “said Kagiraneza Justin, one of the students.

The TEMACO Builders Ltd proprietor Emmanuel Tuyisenge, told the youth that everything is possible for a person devoted and committed towards his goals.

“I studied applied chemistry at the University. However I was interested in the construction sector. I started working as support mason at the end of my university studies since I was interested to know how construction is done. I did it without shame since it was the best way of getting experience which helps me to respect co-workers,” he said.

He told students that they have to do research and emulate best practices of people that are doing well in similar field to widen their skills.

“I have no film or music folders on my computer. My time is concentrated on watching and designing what I do. I am the only one to draw designs of majority of materials we make. I consult others in case I face a challenge while drawing,” he said.

Tuyisenge said that he always thinks about how to embrace more innovations and never gets discouraged in whatever he does which are essential for his achievements.

“When I started my company, TEMACO Builders Ltd in 2013, I had no money except projects. I advise you to avoid thinking that some things are impossible when you have strength, ”he said.

“We started with little income, making limited materials but our activities have progressed and we can now make various construction materials including,
pavement blocks, cement blocks among others,” he said.

Obed Ndangamyambi and Ndayizeye Jean de Dieu, IPRC students, they have acquired better knowledge which they will be applying in the near future.
Tuyisenge Emmanuel, a young entrepreneur, shared that he has a dream of making an industry with international competences creating innovations.
