30 Cows given to Poor Families in Jali Sector

In line with “Gira Inka Program”, 30 Poor families in Gateko Cell of Jali sector have been given cows which will contribute to their socio-economic improvement.

“Gira inka” is project that was initiated by the President of the Republic of Rwanda by distributing heifers to rural communities to alleviate poverty.

The distribution is a kind of chain whereby the first calf is given to another beneficially and so on and so forth.

Most of beneficiaries are from poor families.

Mukeshimana Vestine, the Deputy Director General in Charge of Good Governance in Kigali City said that providing cows to poor families will contribute to their welfare while at the same time prevent malnutrition in their respective homes.
