25 Bodies of Genocide Victims Given Decent Burrial

{{Rulindo District residents have been urged to provide information about sites where victims of the 1994 genocide could be so that they can be retrieved and accorded a dignified and decent burial at gazetted memorial sites.}}

The call was made April 28, during the marking of 19th commemoration of the genocide against ethnic Tutsis.

During the commemoration, about 25 bodies of victims were given a decent burial at Rusiga Genocide Memorial site located in Rulindo district.

The Mayor of Rulindo district, Kangwage Justus condemned perpetrators of the genocide which claimed over a million lives of ethnic Tutsis.

Kangwage lashed out against genocide master minders including Matayo Ngirumpatse and his accomplices.

He also called for the apprehension of perpetrators of the 1994 genocide against Tutsis.

The mayor requested those with vital information on the whereabouts of victims of the genocide to provide leads to sites of their burial so that their bodies can be retrieved and accorded dignified burial.

Bosenibamwe Aime, the Governor of Northern province also reiterated the need to accord decent burial to remaining bodies of victims undiscovered yet.

He also called for the quick settlement of challenges faced by genocide survivors whose property was destroyed during the 1994 Genocide against ethnic Tutsis.
