Over 172,000 residents of Gatenga in Kicukiro district are expected to benefit from a new health center being constructed through cooperation between Government and the Belgium Aid (BTC).
The new health facility is overseen by the Institutional Support Program (PAPSDSK) which develops a comprehensive framework to which partners of the Municipality of Kigali City and the Ministry Of Health will contribute.
There has not been a public health center in Gatenga.
Gratien Gasaba the head of Kigali PAPSDSK hailed cooperation and support rendered by Belgian Development Agency (BTC) and Kigali city Council.
The remarks were made during the visit at the new facility by Jean Pascal Labille Belgians Cooperation Minister. The new facility is nearing completion.
Minister Labille commended Rwanda’s Universal health insurance program which he said is highly developed and efficient compared to other nations.
