{Eleven people were rescued on Saturday morning after a sailboat carrying at least 30 passengers drowned in Nyabarongo River.}
Eyewitnesses told IGIHE that a boat carrying at least 30 people from Kamonyi heading to Mageragere Market in Nyarugenge District drowned on Saturday morning.
Until the time of publishing this article eleven people were already rescued and taken to the Hospital for treatment.
The Executive Secretary of Mageragere Sector told IGIHE that the accident was due to the overloaded boat.
However the spokesperson of Police says they are still conducting investigation to find out the cause of the accident.
It is said that there are many crocodiles in the area where the boat capsized
