1026 Youth Leaders from Eastern Province urged to uphold discipline

{1026 youth leaders from all sectors and cell levels in Eastern Province start a week-long national itorero civic education at Gabiro Combat Training Center in Gatsibo District from March 30 up to April 6.}

For a period of seven days, the youth will see how to find out realistic resolutions to challenges that hinder their welfare through practical actions towards national development.

Addressing youth leaders at the official opening of Itorero, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Youth and ICT, Rosemary Mbabazi urged youth leaders to uphold discipline and work hard to inspire their peers in their respective cells.

The ongoing Itorero for youth leaders from across the country, known as Inkomezamihigo, is organised by the Ministry of Youth and ICT, National Itorero Commission, Rwanda Defence Force, National Youth Council, Ministry of Local Government, and other partners.

The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Youth and ICT, Rosemary Mbabazi stressed that “Expected outcomes from the Itorero for youth leaders will acquire skills and knowledge pertaining leadership, planning, implementation, and follow up aimed at transforming their communities.” She added that “The government of Rwanda choose to empower young people as the future of our country.”

Jean Bosco Mutsindashyaka representing young people in Rugarama Sector in Gatsibo noted that they expect to learn new skills to help them as young people to inspire their peers in their respective communities.
