Uganda-DRC border in Arua closed over dispute

{The Uganda -DRC border outpost of Vurra has been closed as a result of a border dispute.}

The locals on the Congo side are reportedly armed with bows and arrows as the row threatens to spill into violence.

Though, the Arua Resident District Commissioner, Peter Debele, met with his DRC counterpart, Governor Jean Bamanisa Saidi, the two failed to reach a consensus.

The traders are counting losses and want the border point- which is a key transit route- re-opened.
